Veteran’s Monument Park will be located in James City County, Virginia, and is situated in the Historic Triangle of Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Island and the Yorktown Battlefield. The greater Hampton Roads Area is home to the largest Navy base in the world, with many Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Corps, and National Guard installations. The area is also home to 150,000 active duty and civilian workers and 240,000 veterans.

Tourism

The Hampton Roads area receives approximately 25 million visitors per year. Veteran’s Monument Park will be located in Williamsburg, Virginia, located within a 1-hour radius of most cities in the Hampton Roads area. Additionally, the Historic Triangle, of which Williamsburg is a part, sees 4 million annual visitors. This memorial will be located on Jamestown Road, 3.6 miles from historic Jamestown.

Military & Veteran Presence

This park will honor all branches of service, and we are located in the heart of the area’s military installations. Cheatham Annex, Camp Peary, Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown Coast Guard Station, and Ft. Eustis are all a short drive away, with additional installations located within an hour radius. Over 30 percent of all veterans living in Virginia reside in Hampton Roads. Of the 240,000 veterans in the greater Hampton Roads area, approximately 10,000 call Williamsburg home.
