This sacred project started with a vision long before 2023. Veterans and families imagined a space that spoke beyond names — a place to honor sacrifice and unite generations.
Williamsburg’s patriotic spirit, central Virginia location, and strong veteran presence made it the ideal setting for a national-level monument.
~2017: Initial community discussions & site plan approved for planning
2021–22: Approvals, donations, and design planning continues.
2023: Groundbreaking, clearing, and setting up for the monument.
2024–25: Trails cleared, ADA pavement installed & Iwo Jima statue placed.
2025+: Gazebo, 105 Howitzer, landscaping & final prepartions are still needed.
Thanks to our community, donors, and volunteers, the monument has come to life brick by brick.
